Google recently announced that by the end of next year, it will completely eliminate carbon emissions from the transportation of products, foreign media reported.Meanwhile, all products will contain recycled plastics by 2022.
Anna Meegan, Google's head of sustainability for devices and services, said in an interview:
"Google's transport carbon emissions fell by 40 per cent last year compared to 2017, mainly due to the increased use of shipping rather than air transport to transport mobile phones, smart speakers, laptops and other equipment from factories to the rest of the world.
Mr Meagan said Google would offset the remaining emissions by buying carbon credits.Of the 9 Google products Google has disclosed in detail online, 3 contain recycled plastics.
Google promises to introduce recycled plastic into all products by 2022.
In addition to Google, other tech electronics giants are also making green deployments to reduce the environmental impact of their gadgets.

Apple: efficient utilization, regeneration and replacement
In its 2019 environmental responsibility report, apple said recycled plastic accounted for an average of 38 percent of the 82 components it released this year alone.
For example, in the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR, more than 40 components contain recycled plastic.
Apple's plastic use strategy is mainly reflected in the following aspects:
The first concern is to reduce the amount of plastic used through efficient use of materials.Apple, for example, has redesigned the way plastic is injected into molds for high-volume parts in the iPhone XS and iPhone XR to produce a third less waste plastic.
Apple is looking for renewable or recycled alternatives to fossil fuel-based plastics for the plastic it must use.
However, because the amount of plastic apple USES varies in grade, each plastic is designed to meet specific requirements.
To this end, apple is systematically exploring and certifying recycled or renewable alternatives for all grades of plastics. That way, no matter what kind of plastic the product needs, there are options for recycling or recycling.
So far, apple has found recycled substitutes for 24 different grades of plastic. That allowed apple to use an average of 38 percent recycled plastic in the 82 components it released this year.
In packaging, apple is trying to eliminate the need for plastic altogether.Over the past three years, apple has cut the amount of plastic it USES in packaging by nearly half.
Samsung: environmental design process
Earlier this year, samsung electronics announced that it would use environmentally sustainable materials such as recycled/bio-plastics instead of plastic to produce a range of products, including mobile phones, computers, tablets, wearable products and packaging.
It aims to use 500,000 tonnes of recycled plastic and collect 7.5 million tonnes of waste products by 2030.
Samsung electronics has set a series of green management objectives to reduce greenhouse gases and to minimize the environmental impact of production, thus achieving a circular economy.

For example, by 2020, 90% of newly developed products will meet ecological standards;Collected 3.8 million tons of waste products worldwide (from 2009 to 2020);Samsung plant waste recycling rate of 95%, etc.
Samsung's strategy in the use of plastics is an environmentally friendly design process that takes into account the impact of products on the environment during product design time.
Environmental design process is an environmental evaluation method adopted in the product planning stage. From product design to logistics, distribution to recycling, samsung looks at every step and thoroughly examines the environmental impact of its products.
Through this process, samsung identifies features that are consistent with environmental practices, such as reducing the amount of resources used in manufacturing, reducing unnecessary packaging, efficient distribution, and recycling at the end of the product life cycle.
LG: waste reduction, recycling and reuse
LG has pledged to recycle 95% of its waste from its manufacturing sites by 2030, by drastically reducing the amount of waste in overseas business sites.Meanwhile, the landfill rate of waste from Korean factories (mainly the kamei A3 production base in South Korea) has been improved.
In the past, all industrial residues from waste water treatment at the kamei A3 production base in South Korea were sent to landfills. Now, the kamei A3 site has reduced landfills by about 100 tons of industrial waste per month.
At the same time, check the conditions related to the recovery process of raw materials, analyze the related recovery performance and applicability, and explore diversified recovery methods.
The volume of landfill in the A3 fell from 1,527 tons in 2017 to 94 tons in 2018, with the landfill rate dropping from 10 percent to
In addition, LG has pledged to collect 4.5 million tons of e-waste between 2006 and 2030.
LG electronics will build an ecosystem of resource recycling by managing its production processes and product design phases, taking into account the reusability and recyclability of resources and getting rid of the one-way linear economy of resource extraction, production, consumption and waste.
In general, LG electronics is committed to maximizing the recycling of resources and waste generated during the production phase, and to increasing waste collection and recycling after use to facilitate the circular economy.
SONY: lightweight, environmental design, resource recycling
SONY "minimizes input" and "maximizes reuse" throughout the life cycle of business activities and products.
In view of the input resources, promote the lightweight products, improve the enterprise's resource utilization efficiency.
For recycling, we should not only design environmentally friendly products, but also cooperate with recycling companies to promote recycling of recycled products all over the world.
At the same time, active procurement of recycled raw materials and parts, maximize the realization of product recycling.
SONY has also established its own chemical management standards to thoroughly manage chemicals in raw materials and components worldwide.Meanwhile, prevent or take measures in advance to continuously reduce or replace substances that have any potential impact on the environment.
In terms of plastics, SONY has been developing a new type of recycled plastic since 2011. Its classic recycled plastic SORPLAS™ contains 99 percent recycled materials and only 1 percent flame retardants and other additives.
The main source is the waste disc and waste optical film recycled by our factory, but also contains recycled plastics after consumption, such as plastic water bottles and so on.
SONY's recycled plastic has been used in a variety of SONY products, including televisions, cameras and telescopes, to help achieve sustainable development.
