Google, apple and other tech giants have come up with ways to reduce electronic plastic waste

Google recently announced that by the end of next year, it will completely eliminate carbon emissions from the transportation of products, foreign media reported.Meanwhile, all products will contain recycled plastics by 2022.

Anna Meegan, Google's head of sustainability for devices and services, said in an interview:

"Google's transport carbon emissions fell by 40 per cent last year compared to 2017, mainly due to the increased use of shipping rather than air transport to transport mobile phones, smart speakers, laptops and other equipment from factories to the rest of the world.

Mr Meagan said Google would offset the remaining emissions by buying carbon credits.Of the 9 Google products Google has disclosed in detail online, 3 contain recycled plastics.

Google promises to introduce recycled plastic into all products by 2022.

Apple: efficient utilization, regeneration and replacement

In its 2019 environmental responsibility report, apple said recycled plastic accounted for an average of 38 percent of the 82 components it released this year alone.

Samsung: environmental design process

LG: waste reduction, recycling and reuse

LG has pledged to recycle 95% of its waste from its manufacturing sites by 2030, by drastically reducing the amount of waste in overseas business sites.Meanwhile, the landfill rate of waste from Korean factories (mainly the kamei A3 production base in South Korea) has been improved.

In the past, all industrial residues from waste water treatment at the kamei A3 production base in South Korea were sent to landfills.Now, the kamei A3 site has reduced landfills by about 100 tons of industrial waste per month.
