History of injection molding machine
- Apr 01, 2019-
In 1946,American inventor James Watson hendry built the first injection molding machine, which allows for more precise control of the speed and mass of the objects being injected. The machine can also mix the materials before injection, so that the color or recycled plastic can be thoroughly mixed into the native material.
In the 1970s, hendry went on to develop the first gas-assisted injection molding process that allowed the production of complex, hollow products that cooled rapidly. This greatly improves design flexibility as well as strength and end-point manufacturing components while reducing production time, cost, weight and waste.
The first screw injector was developed in the United States in 1951. It was not patented and is still in use.
